There are 15 species of the Hedgehog. They have a funny appearance that is round and puffy. They have a white front and belly with a dark brown or gray spine type of backing. There may be up to 6,000 of them for each of the Hedgehogs.

The African Elephant is the largest of all land living mammals. They can weigh more than 13,000 pounds and have a height of up to 13 feet. They are gray in color with large ears and tusks that tend to get larger as they get older. The ears of this species are twice as large as those of the Asian Elephant. They are often hunted for the ivory those tusks are made from.
The African Elephant consumes a variety of plants, trees, and twigs. They have a trunk that offers them the ability to take berries off of trees, to consume water, and to cover their sensitive skin in dirt.

The Eurasian Lynx is a small cat and the have thick fur that is brown, white, and offers some black markings. They have very large paws that help them with hunting but also allow them to walk on top of snow and ice with ease. They typically are afraid of humans so they keep their distance.
The Eurasian Lynx sleeps during the day and they hunt at night. They consume various small creatures including rodents and rabbits. They are considered endangered due to their low numbers in the wild. A big part of that has to do with the fact that the Eurasian Lynx was once heavily hunted for its coat.

The Harp Seal is white in color and it lives in the cold areas of Antarctica. The coat will start to turn gray though as the seal gets older. The young tend to spend plenty of time on land but as they get older they will also spend more and more of their time in the water.
The Harp Seal has thick fur and layers of blubber that allow it to be able to thrive in such a cold region. They can grow as long as 6 feet and weigh up to 400 pounds. They have to find a variety of food items based on region and the time of the year. They can spend many hours a day trying to find food.

The Black Bear can be from 4 to 7 feet tall when it stands upright. It has a very long and round snout. It also has sharp teeth and sharp claws. The body is covered with thick dark fur that may be brown or black in color. They are only found inNorth America.
The Black Bear can range in weight from 90 pounds to 550 pounds. They have a very large home range that they forage looking for food including berries and fruit. They can be dangerous when they feel there is danger from humans. That is especially true when a mother is trying to protect her young cubs.
